Agents will again have the choice to complete initial MAPD training online without the requirement of attending a face-to-face class to obtain certification. Agents who complete the 2020 initial certification are allowed to sell 2019 plans through 11/30/2019 for an effective date no later than 12/01/2019.
Both the certification and recertification final exams are open book, and for PY20 we are making it easier than ever to find the information you need to pass the test. The time to complete the final exam (both cert and recert) will be extended from 35 minutes to 45 minutes.
AHIP Remains a Requirement for Certification and Recertification
2020 AHIP is required for both 2020 Certification and 2020 Recertification. Agents typically take their AHIP through Humana after they have logged into training from our Humana site. If an agent goes directly to AHIP they must have their AHIP results sent to Humana before they can continue completing their certification or recertification.
For those agents required to pay the AHIP registration fee, the 2020 charge is $125, if the training is accessed via the Humana MarketPoint University.
If you do not successfully recertify by November 30, 2019, you will be decertified as of December 1, 2019. Per CMS regulations, no renewal commissions can be paid to agents who are decertified.
Your final 2020 Certification exam will come from the 2020 MAPD/PDP Agent Guidance
