2019 Certification

New and returning agents must complete certification training online.
Local face-to-face (instructor-led) training is recommended (but not required) for 2019 selling; sign-up will be available through the online calendar later this summer.
2019 Contract and Attestation Requirements
Cigna-HealthSpring’s online attestation process allows Agents and Agencies to complete all required contractual updates and attestations as part of our annual agent certification process.
AGENTS
Agents cannot begin 2019 certification training until all contractual agreements are complete. All Agents must complete attestation requirements and certification by December 31, 2018, or forfeit renewal payments.
AGENCIES
Agencies must complete attestation requirements by December 31, 2018, otherwise January 2019 payments will be withheld. Agencies that fail to complete these requirements by March 31, 2019, will forfeit payments. If the agency representative is also licensed and appointed with Cigna-HealthSpring, he/she will also need to log in with personal credentials to attest as an agent.
NEW FOR 2019
Agencies will now log in with their agency NPN numbers as usernames. Each agency will receive two separate emails; one containing the username, the other containing the current password.
2019 Certification Reimbursement
Cigna-HealthSpring will reimburse certification costs for 2019 Medicare Advantage agent certification, where eligibility requirements are met.
To be eligible for reimbursement you need to complete your 2019 certification by September 15, 2018 AND sell five (5) net January 1, 2019 effective applications.
After meeting these requirements, you’ll be eligible for reimbursement as outlined below:
- Complete AHIP Training and all Cigna-HealthSpring required courses to receive $125 reimbursement
- Complete Gorman Health Group Training and all Cigna-HealthSpring required courses to receive $99 reimbursement
- Complete Pinpoint Medicare Training and all Cigna-HealthSpring required courses to receive $89.95 reimbursement

Certification Requirement for Renewals
Finally, we would like to remind you that 2019 certification is required to service existing members and receive renewal commissions. In order to remain active and in good standing, ALL agents must complete all courses in the 2018 agent certification curriculum and ALL agencies must complete the Policies and Procedures and the Rules of Engagement attestation noted above prior to January 1, 2018. Any agents or agencies that have not completed these requirements prior to January 1st will be terminated.
